Wills Hills consists of women and men of various ages and running levels. The group meets on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 5:30 AM at Spotts Park, 401 S Heights Blvd (77007). We meet in the parking lot of the old YWCA (adjacent to Spotts park) located on Heights Boulevard just north of Memorial Drive. We are a very, cohesive and supportive running group.
Our Summer Session began on Wednesday, July 23, and literarly runs through the end of September. Our sessions usually last about 10 weeks. Our main objective in summer is to help build a solid running foundation and prepare you for the upcoming fall/winter half and/or full marathon season. If you are going to run one of these races NOW is the time to start training! We're looking to help our runners develop both stamina and endurance. We encourage not only running fitness but total body fitness, using a combination of hill and speed work, tempo runs, plyometrics and calasthetics. Plus we're a very supportive group too.
However if you're not running a marathon, or racing; this session is excellent for your overall fitness. Plus we're all about strength (core and total body) so all of our workouts include calisthenics, lots of stretching and plyometrics. The whole workout usually takes a little over 1 hour. So what are you waiting for? Come out and join us for a workout or two!
Wills Hills welcomes runners of all levels. To join is simple—please email me at our "contact us" section. I'll let you know about dates and times and availability of our workouts. If you do come out on a regular basis a $20 donation for gatorade, water, and supplies is greatly appreciated.
